Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Challenge Me app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. In short: we keep only what the game needs, other players see only what you allow, and we never sell your data or use it for ads.
What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and a user ID. Apple lets you hide your real address.
- Profile: the display name you choose and your leaderboard visibility setting.
- Game data: your result for each daily challenge (score, points, accuracy, time) and a log of each round (which puzzle, your answer, whether it was correct and how long it took). Your Brain Map, Coach insights and achievements are calculated from it.
- Statistics: totals such as games played, practice sessions and your best results.
What stays on your device
Settings such as language and theme, your Coach goal and an unfinished daily run are stored only on your device. Guest mode stores nothing on our servers. This website uses no cookies and no analytics, and stores nothing in your browser.
How we use it
We use your data only to run the game: to save your progress and sync it across devices, to show your results, Brain Map and Coach insights, to rank the monthly leaderboard and to compare your score with other players. We also look at aggregated statistics that do not identify anyone, such as how many people played on a given day, to keep the service running and improve it. We process your data to provide the game you signed up for and, for aggregated statistics, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running it.
What other players see
Other players see you on the leaderboard according to your visibility setting: Public (your name, score and profile), Name only, Anonymous (a "Player #" tag instead of your name) or Hidden (you do not appear at all). The comparison on the result screen uses only anonymous aggregates. You can change your visibility in the app at any time.
What we do not do
No ads and no ad networks. No third-party analytics or tracking tools. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing.
Where your data is stored
The app runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which stores the data in the United States (region us-east-1). Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. These providers process data only to deliver the service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, results and statistics are deleted immediately and you are removed from the leaderboard. Details are on the Delete account page.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it, and you can object to how we process it. You can also delete your account yourself, directly in the app. If you are in the EU, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
